In 2006, the Southern Ute Indian Tribe commissioned West Office to design the permanent and temporary exhibitions for a new Cultural Center and Museum planned for their southwestern Colorado reservation. This project, to be developed with substantial collaboration with the tribal membership, aims to preserve cultural knowledge, values and artifacts for future generations and to tell the largely untold story of the Ute people—in their own voices, and from their own point of view.
