Science Museum of Virginia wanted a combination of new, refurbished and reimagined exhibits about light and vision; illusion and perception; astronomy; force and motion; and electricity as a complement to existing exhibits. Newton in Space: Bodies in Motion: Visitors see what happens when things bounce, crash and spin in space. They discover the beauty of Newton’s laws, while learning the effects of gravity and inertia. Light Visions: Eyesight to Starlight: Visitors find out how light and sight create and reveal the world around us. They can play with light, discover color and reflect on their own reflection, while learning how our eyes and minds interpret what we see here on Earth and throughout the universe. Electriworks: The Power of Electricity: Visitors discover the invisible world of moving charges and magnetic fields. They can generate their own electricity, create and transform an electric current, and learn how to make a motor. 9,000 sq. ft.
