Chabot Space & Science Center: Moon Odyssey
OAKLAND, CA
Aspiring astronauts and eager Earthlings explore the Moon from legends to landings. Visitors take a simulated Moon-walk, climb into a Mercury capsule, and land a lunar module. Exhibits explain the Moon’s phases, gravity and effects on the Earth. Visitors can take a close-up look at space artifacts and replicas—from Sputnik to Apollo—and even examine a piece of the Moon. Is it really made of green cheese?
