What is it like to live and work in space? Getting there is risky. The environment can be lethal. Weightlessness makes it difficult to live, work, and stay healthy. Exhibits provide a glimpse into the adventure and challenges in the life of an astronaut. Visitors try out astronaut exercise gear and picture themselves in a weightless environment. Displays of real spacesuits, spacecraft, and astronaut food reveal how astronauts cope with the physical and mental challenges of life in space.
